SKU:SG3

ShowerGlyde Model SG3 is a sliding transfer bench designed to fit in tighter environments or bathrooms with a vanity adjacent to the tub. Shorter rails and a swivel option allow the chair to clear the obstruction/tight space without sacrificing comfort or ease of use. SG3 slides easily in and out of the tub and locks in two points; on the inside and outside of the tub. SG3 can be assembled as a left or right-hand unit. One grab bar installed at the wall-side of the rails is included for support in sliding. SG3 is height adjustable allowing clearance of up to a 19” tub. Optional extension legs are available for taller tub lips (up to 25”). SG3 comes standard with a seatbelt and a seat with 3 options; an open commode seat for easy washing, a splatter guard, and a solid seat insert.

The ShowerGlyde SG3 weighs 24.7lbs with the weight capacity of 330lbs.

Solid, well built shower transfer

This was the only unit I could find that was wide enough to be used in the Jacuzzi tub we have in our master bathroom. (see picture) It is solidly built with no shaking or wobbling. The chair glides back and forth effortlessly when occupied. The optional swivel seat on the SG1 made it ideal for our use.
I also want to point out that the customer service people were great to deal with and very responsive when I had a question. If you are looking for a high quality, durable shower transfer unit, the Shower Glide is it.

Helps me shower safely

The ShowerGlyde is designed for small bathrooms, but was still too large for our bathroom. We ordered and tried three different units and brands, but none of them worked either. After initiating a return, I decided to keep this bench and have it altered. We cut off the rails to shorten them where they hit my knees while sitting on the toilet. It worked perfectly! I have used the bench twice and absolutely love it. I feel completely safe, and am able to get on/off with only a little effort. I am disabled, overweight, and 80 years old, so this is something I needed to be able to stay in my home instead of going into assisted care.

Good product. I would buy it again.

My impression is that the quality is good. I am glad I bought this roller-bearing based design, rather than a plastic sleeve sliding on a rail as is used in the less-expensive transfer chair products; maybe that works OK, but the person I care for weighs ~245 pounds, and I wanted to make life easier for myself

This chair locks in place at either end, which is good as it helps the patient feel secure when the chair is not being moved. The only problem is that she has insufficient strength to operate these push-controlled locks, so I have to do this, and to do that for the "far" lock requires me to stretch over her legs, which is more "personal proximity" than I would prefer. In other words, I would prefer to not have to almost rest my head on her knees when I am releasing the far chair-lock.

Another issue concerns the side of the device the armrest is installed. The instructions specify to install the armrest at the end of the transfer-bench **inside** the bathtub (next to the bathtub wall). That didn't really make sense to me for two reasons: it decreases the usable width of the bathtub slightly, and that for us, it makes sense to use the armrest to sit *down* on the transfer chair when approaching it from the outside of the tub or preparing to stand up after the shower. So I installed the arm on what is the "out-side" of the transfer bench from the bathtub's point of view. It is stable and works well, because the armrest is almost directly over the outside legs, so unbalancing the unit is not a concern.

And you might want to buy a soft cushion for the seat, because this seat is hard molded plastic, unlike one of the less-expensive products which *does* have a cushioned seat. Unfortunately, that product slides-on-a-rail, which was a non-starter with me.

This product is sturdy, well-built, I would buy it again, and other than a few small design tweaks, is helpful.

Sg2 with extended rails

Best sturdy chair.love swivel seat.bought the cushioned seat. Also great
But mine had to be 60 inches it’s perfect except it’s one piece and we use that bathroom.so I carry it out and put it back. But still think it’s the best thing I bought so far that was sturdy.and works well.

Solid shower transfer unit

Only unit I could find that was wide enough to be used with the Jacuzzi tub in our master bathroom. It is solidly constructed with no shaking or wobbling. We added a swivel seat that fit they way we needed to use the unit. The seat glides effortlessly when anyone is on it including a 225# adult. I also need to note that the customer service people were great and very responsive to any questions or needs I had. If you are looking for a solid, durable shower transfer chair this is one I highly recommend.
