Our custom cushions are made from Visco foam, short for viscoelastic foam, and is often referred to as memory foam. It “remembers” the shape of what’s pressed into it, then slowly returns to normal, hence the name memory foam. Visco is a popular material in wheelchair cushions for users needing comfort + pressure relief.
Custom cushions distribute pressure more evenly, helping prevent pressure sores (also known as pressure injuries or ulcers. A well-fitted cushion can increase stability, making transfers easier and safer and preventing sliding or tipping.
